I’m starting a new daily practice. I’m going to try to learn how to do a handstand. Unlike some of the other daily habits I do, this one has a pretty clear end point. I want to be able to do a freestanding handstand. This is a practice I’ve actually tried before. Last spring I practiced doing a handstand daily for a few weeks. That had to stop though because I lost control of my electric skateboard in a patch of wet leaves like a duffus and wound up breaking my wrist. Now it’s all healed up and feeling great so I want another crack at it. Basically my process for starting a new daily habit is pretty straightforward, once I know what I want to start doing. First I need to make it clear in my mind what I want to accomplish. In this case it’s pretty simple but it’s a necessary step. When the day comes where I don’t feel like doing it, I’ll remind myself why I started. I want to do this for fun. I think it would be a whole lot of fun to be able to do a handstand.
